I've been away from clay for too long, and I'm coming to the realization that I need to start somewhere. It's become clear that I won't be throwing like I did 6 months ago any time soon, but I need to get back to doing something. Less clay, smaller forms, less time at the wheel in one stretch. Less expectations, smaller goals, less pressure on myself. Physical therapy is making small, slow, sometimes imperceptible progress, and I need to be content with the same rate of progress in the studio.

Thanks for the link to the e-book. It is a good read! And short enough that it doesn't take too much time. :-)
Hang in there Brian! But it sounds like you've got the right idea - Start small and keep it simple!
Sorry you are still having such trouble since your accident. Starting small is a good idea. Hope you get back to speed soon.
Thanks everyone!
I have to say, I was inspired to start thinking small by all those pretty little glaze tests Meagan posted last Friday. I really like those 'pods'.
I'll likely be starting with small cup and maybe bowl-like forms, but I have to start somewhere.
That's a tough pill to swallow, Brian... I hope that you recover fully. I think you're right on spot taking it slow and easy. Starting small and lessening the self imposed pressure is a good start.
